The Raghu Dixit Project live at the Kennedy Center

As I have made amply clear on Twitter, The Embassy of India is sponsoring a 10-day event at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. called maximum INDIA. My previous post was on the first performance of the festival by U. Shrinivas. On the second night Rhythm of Rajasthan a folk ensemble performed a very entertaining act. Last night, I saw Zakir Hussain, Shankar Mahadevan and Hariharan perform a concerto commissioned by the National Symphony Orchestra. More thoughts on the concerto later, but a few words on The Raghu Dixit Project - a band which performed live a little over an hour ago.

I've heard a lot of crossover projects and artists perform at various stages. The last singer with such a great voice for both rock and Indian folk who I've heard perform live is Bonnie Chakraborty. Having heard tonight's performance I can say that Raghu Dixit is even more awesome!

But don't just take my word for it. Thanks to the kind folks at the Kennedy Center you can watch the entire performance:
